This handsome young man was Gordon Tennyson Dopson, the seventh child of William Castleberry Dopson and Ella McDonald Dopson. He was born on October 13, 1907 in Channahatchee, Alabama, and died tragically from an accidental gunshot wound on February 04, 1933. He was out hunting and was crawling under a barbed wire fence, pulling the gun under the fence along side of him when it went off, striking him in the chest and killing him almost immediately. He taught at Red Hill School at around the time the current brick building was being built, in the late 1920's until his tragic death at age 26. At the time he was dating one of the school teachers. He never married.
He was a younger brother to Elmer, Herman and Bertie Dopson He is buried at Refuge Cemetery.
