This pic shows the old wooden railing on the old bridge over the Channahatchee Creek, not many years after the road from Red Hill to Kent was finally paved. It was located just down the hill from the Walter Lloyd home, where Lloyd Road ends at the creek today. This was a spooky place after dark. Many reports of an apparition of a woman, clothed only in a burlap bag, walking through the night, on or near the bridge, were given by people who happened to pass this way late at night. This bridge was destroyed when the road was rerouted to the new AL 229 bridge just east of this area.
