In the early 1900's this old general store was the center of Channahatchee, Alabama and served as its Post Office as well.  It was owned by the great grandfather of the babies laying on the blanket, Henry Taunton.  The babes on the blanket are Charles Taunton, son of Martin Alva and Burte Foshee Taunton, and Mary Ethel Caldwell, daughter of Sam and Delma Taunton Caldwell.  Photo is circa the early 1940's.
