Behind the extensive stonework of this home, plus several add-on sections, stands the original structure of a home Forrest Hall built for his wife, Cloma Taunton Hall in the early 1940's. Forest was a stone mason specializing in the irregular shaped field stone so commonly found in this area of Alabama. All of his sons, Sellers, Billy Joe, George, and Willie Ray eventually found their way into the profession at sometime in their life. Willie Ray is the only surviving son, living in Atlanta now, and he is still laying stone, in a very beautiful and artistic style and design. Here also their two daughters, Mary Alice and Sara Edith grew up as well. In later years they adopted three of their grandchildren and one of them, Joe Hall, became an in-demand stone mason
