Exar (Deck) Ophelia Griffith Clayton born October 11, 1889 in Elmore county, Alabama to Armendie Reeves Griffith and Barney Bascomb Griffith.  Her first marriage was to Houston Roney, who died shortly after they were married.  She later married James Alexander (Elex) Clayton and had three children:  Dannie Armendie Clayton (Miller); Rufus Alfred Clayton and Hilda Irene Clayton (Chambers).  She passed from this life on February 19, 1966; as she would have said,
