This is a local newspaper article on Mr. Terrell Griffith, who was wounded at Gettysburg and lost his left arm. One of our oldest citizens of our community at the time of this posting, if not the oldest, Mr. Arvel Griffith, is the grandson of Mr. Terrell. Not many communities in the nation today have a living grandson of a Confederate veteran living in the community.

Edmond Terrell's sister married John Canady (Kennedy), brother of Tom Kennedy (first pic), shortly before the Civil War. John was killed at Gettysburg and was supposedly buried in a mass grave.

Thanks for your comment, Jeff! It is always good to hear from folks connected to this part of the world. Your grandfather and grandmother taught me at Red Hill School in the 7th, 8th and 9th grades.
