Thomas Jefferson Kennedy and family. This photo was probably taken somewhere around 1895. The two adults, left to right, are Thomas Jefferson Kennedy and Sarah McInnish Kennedy. The three young ladies in back, left to right are Matt, Priscilla, and Cynthia. The three boys, left to right, are Edward, Carl and John. Thomas had previously spelled his last name Canady. Carl went on to become the principal of Red Hill School. A later copy of this photo has Priscilla mysteriously painted out of the picture. Also missing is one of the sons, Nevin Kennedy, who was probably already out on his on at the time this photo was taken. Nevin became a pillar of the community, back in the days when it was called Channahatchee. He was a member of the board of trustees for the Red Hill School, helping to insure that the children in our area had a good facility, with good teachers, for acquiring an education

This picture is missing one sibling. My great grandfather, Nevin Kennedy, was the oldest I believe, and was probably on his own at that time.

David:
Thanks for letting us know about Phil. He was a true friend and supporter of our community and our organization. I very much enjoyed my brief moments with him.
He will be missed!

Footnote: to Mark Halls comment, Uncle Carls T.V. set was the only T.V. I have ever seen that had channel 14 on it.

My name is David Kennedy Yoder, I am writing to let everyone know that my cousin Phil Kennedy lost his battle with cancer several weeks ago. We all expected him to be around for another 20 years.

As children, my brother Matt and I would be playing in the yard of our grandpa, Willis Hall, and laugh because we could hear Uncle Carl's TV. He played it loud !
