The Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, located on Rifle Range Road just south of Tallassee, was organized in 1880, down on the riverside, at a place called Little Texas. Years later the church was moved to a location called Gipson Quarter, which today is called Rifle Range Road. The first order of service was held in the new building on October 3, 1971. Today Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church is under the leadership of Pastor Tyrone C. Daniels. He states that: "As Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church continues to embrace the basics and principles upon which the church was built, the Lord will add to the church such as should be saved."
