This was the home of Austin and Mary O'Daniel Davis from the mid 1930's until the mid 1970's, and is located on East Cotton Road. It was of sturdy rock construction, similar to the home of his father-in-law, Mr. Marion O'Daniel. Austin and Miss Mary had no children but provided summer jobs for their nephews and other community children; this editor being one of them. My second job was picking cotton in one of Mr. Austin's fields on todays Castaway Island Road. My third job was harvesting oats on one of his combines with his nephew, Curtis O'Daniel. They have been gone for many years and the current owners Joe & Kim Mann.
