This home was built by Mr. Arvel Griffith in the mid 1930's. He married Ms. Myrtice Cason around 1940. He was drafted into the Army Air Corp in WW II and served in the China-Burma- India theatre until the war was over. As a result of his serving in the CBI theatre, he became the first person in the Red Hill area to circumvent the globe. He and Ms. Myrtice raised 3 children here, Wayne, Rodney, and Judy. Arvel told me the huge poplar at the front door of the home was a tiny sapling when he built the house.
